摘要:The spin-orbit coupling (SOC) in degenerateFermi gases can fundamentally change the fate of s-wave superfluids with strongZeeman field, giving rise to topologicalsuperfluids and associated Majorana zero modes. It also dramatically changesthe thermodynamic properties of the superfluids. In this talk, I will mainlyfocus on the isothermal compressibility in these degenerate gases. The outlineof this talk is largely described as following: (1) A briefdiscussion of isothermal compressibility in ideal gas, and non-interactingfermion and boson gases. (2) Anomalous behavior of isothermalcompressibility with both SOC and Zeeman field. (3) Exact isothermalcompressibility in degenerate Fermi gases without SOC and Zeeman field andtheir physics in BEC and BCS limits. (4) Anomalous of compressibility in3D optical lattice. (5) Some exact results for isothermalcompressibility in the lattice model. Students with some backgroundin thermodynamics can capture the major ideas in talk much easier.
报告人简介:龚明,教授、博士生导师。主要从事量子计算、量子模拟、拓扑量子计算以及多体物理等方面的研究。在Nature Communications, Phys. Rev. Lett.等杂志上发表论文60多篇。
